Position Summary

The Project Manager will provide overall coordination, planning, implementation, and operational oversight for the project. The successful candidate will work closely with project partners, technical teams, regulatory stakeholders, and institutional representatives to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives, timelines, and outputs.

The Project Manager will support the implementation of activities related to research ethics, regulatory systems strengthening, pharmacovigilance, digital health platforms, and regional harmonization initiatives across participating institutions and countries.


Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Management

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of project activities across all work packages.
  • Develop and monitor project work plans, timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Ensure project activities are implemented in line with approved objectives, budgets, and timelines.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, workshops, trainings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Facilitate communication among project partners, consultants, institutions, and regional stakeholders.

Technical and Operational Oversight

  • Support the planning and implementation of digital systems and platform development activities.
  • Coordinate engagements with software developers, technical consultants, and implementation partners.
  • Monitor progress of ethics review, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance-related activities under the project.
  • Identify implementation risks, challenges, and mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships

  • Maintain strong working relationships with national regulatory authorities, ethics committees, academic institutions, and regional partners.
  • Support regional collaboration and harmonization efforts across participating countries.
  • Represent the project at meetings, conferences, and stakeholder forums where required.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Track project performance indicators and deliverables.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports for donors, partners, and project leadership.
  • Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and project outcomes.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation of project activities.

Financial and Administrative Support

  • Support budget tracking and resource planning in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with donor, institutional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with procurement, logistics, and administrative coordination where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Project Management, Health Informatics, Research Administration, Biomedical Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience managing health research, digital health, regulatory, or international development projects.
  • Experience working with multi-country or multi-institutional projects is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of research ethics, pharmacovigilance, regulatory systems, or clinical research processes is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating donor-funded projects is highly desirable.
